Ramona Singer has «never been happier» since her stint on ‘The Real Housewives of New York’ ended.
Speaking to the DailyMail on Thursday, the former reality TV star explained that after Bravo decided to overhaul the ‘RHONY’ franchise, she now has time to focus on herself.
“I’m about 60 now, I’ve worked hard all my life. Time for me to have some fun,” she told the outlet. «And doing the show isn’t easy. I mean, people think it’s easy. Very stressful, very stressful.
In fact, she explained that now that she «can control [her] her own story», she is «happier» and «calmer».
Singer, 66, added: “I don’t miss it at all. It was a great experience and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
The businesswoman – who was kicked off the show after starring on it for its entire 13 seasons – said Bravo fans only got to see an exaggerated version of her.
«They didn’t tell me what to do, I just knew how to create [drama],» she explained. «Was that the real me? Not really. Was that me on steroids? Absolutely.»
The singer first revealed her decision not to return to the Bravo show when she exclusively told Page Six that she didn’t want to be a part of it «any longer.»
«It’s not for me right now,» she told us.
However, sources then told us the feeling was mutual as Bravo didn’t offer her the opportunity to return – which the reality star ultimately confirmed.
«Bravo made a unilateral decision to get rid of everyone,» she reminded the DailyMail. «Send us all back with this.»
The “RHONY” season 13 cast included Singer, Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Leah McSweeney and Eboni K. William.
After the wildly unsuccessful final season of “RHONY,” the network announced plans to revamp the series and hire an all-new cast. Simultaneously, they were launching a new «Legacy» edition which would include former «Housewives».
While some fan favorites made the cut, Singer was ultimately ousted from the cast after criticizing the «Legacy» idea in the press.
«I also feel like the ‘Legacy’ [show], how could it be really good? she said on the «Reality with the King» podcast. «The people they’re going to bring back are the ones they didn’t want to renew anyway.»
«Now what? Are you going to call it ‘The Loser Show’, the ‘Loser Legacy’?»
The new cast of «RHONY» includes creative director Sai De Silva, model and philanthropist Ubah Hassan, home improvement guru Erin Dana Lichy, former J.Crew president Jenna Lyons, fashion publicist and brand consultant Jessel Taank and marketing and brand communications professional Brynn Whitfield. .
Influencer Lizzy Savetsky had also been cast, but she eventually left the show before filming began.
