Managers Managers Managers Managers Managers Managers…
There is a corporate tongue twister if there ever was one.
According to the Command Line newsletter, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly said he’s not a fan of all those layers of management.
«I don’t think you want a management structure that’s just managers managing managers, managing managers, managing managers, managing the people who do the work,» Zuckerberg reportedly said during a Q&A- Internal responses at the end of January, according to Command Line.
Earlier in January, the company’s chief product officer, Chris Cox, reportedly wrote an article on Meta’s communications platform, Workplace, about the need to «flatten» the company’s organizational structure, said reported Command Line.
Command Line writer Alex Heath thinks the whole thing implies «more layoffs are to come».
In November 2022, Meta announced that it was laying off over 11,000 people, in one of the largest staff reductions in company history.
Meta is one of a host of tech giants that have significantly downsized in recent months, including Twitter, Amazon, Microsoft and Google. The massive layoffs have left many in the panicked tech industry uncertain about the future of the industry.
Meta did not immediately respond to Insider’s request for comment.
