If you’re here, it’s probably because you want to know if Captain Olivia Benson and Det. Elliot Stabler has, indeed, kissed this week Law and Order: SVU. After all, the promo surely made it seem like a possibility.
The short answer? No. But you’re gonna wanna know what does to arrive. (That was nothing!)
Liv and El’s close moment came during an episode in which Oscar Papa, leader of the brutal BX9 gang, was brought to justice. An enraged Liv, who hadn’t forgotten for a second how Dad was threatening Noah’s safety and well-being, was in tears to make sure the crime boss goes down for his various crimes. Meanwhile, the child in question was hanging out elsewhere in the state with his half-brother, Connor, and his family.
A ton of complications arose. A witness was poisoned while under police protection. Another had complications that sent him to hospital. And then Captain Duarte was attacked in a bodega by members of BX9 wielding machetes. Although he was rushed to the hospital, Duarte did not survive – and dad basically admits to ordering the hit.
He says he will plead guilty to murder «but not rape», and Benson makes him promise that Noah will not be hurt. Dad confirms it. “We are even now,” he said. And then it’s up to Stabler to get the boy back to Manhattan, because as Benson says, there’s no one she trusts more to take care of her child.
When Noah is home and sleeping safely, Liv thanks her former partner for helping her through a very difficult time. «Why didn’t you call me?» he’s asking himself. «Because I knew you would try to protect me,» she said. And as she searches the cupboard for sugar, Stabler moves in for some sugar of his own. BUNDLE IN, PEOPLE.
MORE STABLE | And is there something wrong with that? I care for you. Olivier. [It’s at this point that he brings his face very close to her face and it takes more effort for them NOT to kiss than for them to kiss. We’re talking millimeters here.]
BENSON | Elliot, Elliot I want. I want to, but I can’t.
MORE STABLE | Why not?
BENSON | Because what if it doesn’t work? [Still lots of close-face-ing.]
MORE STABLE | What if things work out?
BENSON | Elliot, I’m not ready for this. I’m not ready for this. I’m not ready for this. [Liv, um, are you OK? Girlfriend looks like she’s about to pass out, which, RELATABLE.]*
And that’s all! Hit the comments with your thoughts on the interlude!
