
Google announced last week that it was removing 12,000 roles

A man who worked as a recruiter at Google said he found out he had been fired by the tech giant in the middle of an interview last Friday.
In a LinkedIn post, Dan Lanigan Ryan said he was interviewing a candidate when the call disconnected and he was locked out of his system.
«Unfortunately, I was terminated from Google along with several thousand others last Friday. I did not expect it to end so abruptly, being locked out of the system in the middle of a call,» read the post. by Mr. Ryan on LinkedIn.
The former Google employee called it «a dream job with a dream company.»
«A little over a year ago I landed a dream job at a dream company. I was walking the dog when my recruiter called to tell me I had gotten the job and I nearly smothered the poor dog I was celebrating so much,» he wrote.
Speaking to Business Insider, Mr Ryan said he tried to access the company’s internal website during the call last Friday, but was unable to.
He said that soon after he lost access to the company’s website, his email was also blocked.
«I was blocked from everything. And then I saw on the news about 15, 20 minutes later that Google was announcing 12,000 layoffs,» Business Insider quoted Business Insider as saying.
Google announced last week that it was removing 12,000 roles. Although speculation about the cuts has swirled for months, the layoffs have nonetheless been a shock to the system for some employees.
General manager Sunder Pichai stressed that the cuts were made after careful consideration. “We have decided to reduce our workforce by approximately 12,000 positions. We have already sent a separate email to employees in the United States who are affected. In other countries, this process will take longer due to laws and local practices,» Mr. Pichai said. said in a statement.
